The SUBEB boss emphasised that retirement celebration was not automatic, but must be earned through hard work and diligence. He congratulated the retirees for their remarkable service and encouraged them to prioritise their health as they begin a new chapter in life.

“You have given your best to the service of the Board. We celebrate your hard work, commitment and professionalism,” he said.

Ifede urged staffers to see recognition of retirees as motivation, so that officers would put in their best and contribute meaningfully to the development of Ogun State, while complementing the efforts of Governor Dapo Abiodun, for prioritising the welfare of workers.

Also speaking, Permanent Member I, Barr. Femi Odufowokan; Permanent Member III, Hon. Abiodun Ajayi; and Permanent Member IV, Rt. Hon. Akeem Balogun, all stressed the importance of planning for retirement while in service. They congratulated the retirees for achieving a smooth transition from active service.

In his remarks, Board Secretary, Mr. Olubori Akinleye, described retirement as a ‘new beginning’ calling on staff to sustain the culture of celebrating excellence.

Responding, the retirees, Mrs. Animasaun and Mrs. Odunsi, expressed gratitude to God, the Board and their colleagues for the honour and advice, promising not to take them for granted.

In a related development, Chairman, Sagamu Local Government, Hon. Jubril Odulate, has described the retiring Head of Local Government Administration (HOLGA), Sanitarian Hakeem Balogun, as an hardworking, reliable and dedicated officer.

Odulate, made this known during a retirement programme, organised at the Council’s Secretariat in Sagamu, while celebrating the HOLGA who bowed out of service, saying that Sanitarian Balogun was loyal, dedicated and hardworking, noting that these were qualities that endeared the entire local council workers to celebrate him.

Represented by the Vice Chairman, Hon. Isiaka Salami, he further described the retiring HOLGA as an efficient and responsible worker who had discharged his duties responsibly well to the Local Government, imploring other staff of the council to emulate his good qualities.

Responding, the retiring HOLGA said that it was a privilege to contribute to the growth and development of the Civil Service in the State. He appreciated the Chairman, other Council Members as well as staffers for their support while in service, urging them not to renege in contributing their best for the betterment of the people and the Local Government at large, noting that, with hardwork and dedication, they would get to the peak of their careers.
