The Ogun State Government has revealed its plan to re-develop Government Residential Areas (GRA) across the State in conformity with the State Urban Development Plan.

          The immediate past Commissioner for Housing, Jagunmolu Akande Omoniyi made this known during an interactive session with journalists in Abeokuta.

          The Commissioner mentioned that the estates were located at Ibara, Abeokuta, Technical College, Idi-Aba, Abeokuta, Ota, Ilaro, Igbeba, Ijebu- Ode, noting that the plan was necessary, so as to give the areas the needed facelift through the construction of decent houses with State-of-the-art infrastructure.

          He commended the Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun for his determination to provide smart and decent housing for the people of the State through the construction of massive housing units across the State during his first term in office.

          Jagunmolu Omoniyi urged the occupants of the houses to key into the re-development plan to enable government to achieve its objectives, adding that the present administration is also empowering the people through the engagement of artisans.

          He said, “a total of 21,075 artisans have been engaged for various categories of housing development in all completed and ongoing projects in the State”.
