The leadership of the Nigerian Senate has announced the adjournment of its plenary to Tuesday, June 17, 2025.

Godwill Akpabio, the Senate President, however, saidthat there would be a joint session by the House of Representatives and the Red Chamber to mark the 2025 Nigeria’s Democracy Day on June 12.

According to Akpabio, President Bola Tinubu would be joining the lawmakers on the said date in commemoration of the June 12 Democracy Day.

The Senate President also appealed to lawmakers of both the Upper and Lower Chambers to ensure that they graciously attend the joint session.

Akpabio explained that the essence of the adjournment of the plenary is to avail the lawmakers opportunity to celebrate the forthcoming Sallah with their families and loved ones.
