A lawyer and human rights activist, Deji Adeyanju has described the removal of subsidy on May 29, 2023, as President Tinubu’s worst decision.
Adeyanju in a post titled, “All the Money Saved Fron Subsidy Stolen”, said the subsidy removal has brought no significant benefit to Nigerians.
Aledging that governors across states of the country now have more to loot, the lawyer said it is business as usual on the issue of subsidy.
“The worst decision of the Tinubu administration was removing fuel subsidy.
“The governors now have more than four times more to loot. And it’s still business as usual. Nothing has changed,” Adeyanju wrote on X.
He further noted that there are no tangible projects to justify the amount of funds channelled to states before the removal of subsidy.
According to him, governors are the ones enjoying the dividends of “democracy under Tinubu’s” administration.
He added, “You can’t see any project in the states equivalent of money collected before removal of subsidy.
“That’s why the governors are defecting to APC while the people suffer. It’s the governors who are enjoying the dividends of democracy under Tinubu.
“The removal of subsidy is affecting the economy and the people badly,” Adeyanju wrote.
