The Akarigbo and Paramount Ruler of Remo land, Oba Babatunde Ajayi has lauded Prince Dapo Abiodun’s giant strides in healthcare delivery.
Oba Ajayi stated this at the free surgical and medical service tagged: ‘’Together For Health’’ organised by the Ministry of Health in collaboration with Global Health Charity and Training Foundation and Remo Growth and Development Foundation held at the multipurpose hall, Akarigbo’s palace.
He expressed his pleasure over the present administration’s achievements so far in its ISEYA mantra, especially in health sector, saying that the initiative was a laudable one which informed the support of RGDF to jointly transform healthcare in the State.
“We know government cannot do it alone, this informed the initiative of RGDF to support this laudable community driven partnership to serve humanity with qualitative healthcare delivery in accordance with international standard,” he said.
Speaking in an interview, the team leader, Global Health Charity and Training Foundation and a family Physician based in Atlanta, Dr. Adebayo Akintobi said the initiative was a way of giving back to the community to jointly transform healthcare in Nigeria, saying that the team comprised of Doctors with different specialties.
He explained that the service would include free screening for cancer, diabetes, cholesterol and hypertension, expert-led surgical procedures with pre-op screening, free colonoscopies and endoscopies, training for local healthcare professionals, enrollment of 2000 uninsured in Ogun State Health Insurance Scheme, saying that the 2000 enrollee would have a yearlong follow up on their health history.
Some of the beneficiaries were Abiodun Lasisi, Funmilayo Adesanya, Mujidat Adebayo and Obafemi Taiwo appreciated the government for the initiative, saying that it had helped many people to know their health status.
