The Late wife of the Chairman, Trade Union Congress (TUC), Ogun State, Chief (Mrs.) Omodunni Lasisi has been described as a great woman whose life of accomplishment and impact touched many lives positively to the admiration of all.
The Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun stated this at the 8th Day Fidau Prayers for the deceased, held at the Abeokuta North Local Government premises, Akomoje, Abeokuta.
Represented by the Head of Service, Mr. Kehinde Onasanya, the governor said part of her accomplishments as a successful business woman led to the conferment of the chieftaincy title of Iyaloja of Isale-Igbein on her, which underscored her respected position in the society.
The Governor urged the Labour leader, Comrade Akeem Lasisi, who is the most hit, to take solace in the short life well spent and the memories of positive impacts she recorded during her sojourn on earth and stay strong for the children left behind as he has now assumed both roles played by the two parents.
"There is no gainsaying the fact that the death of a beloved one, especially a soulmate is usually a painful experience that is quite heartrending and certainly a test of faith like no other; but as believers, we must summon courage and thank God for a life well spent.
"Chief Mrs Lasisi was a widely respected woman who throughout her lifetime devoted her energy and resources to the service of God. She was a distinguished woman, much referenced and adored. A role model to womanhood and humanity in general", the gov. said.
In a lecture, an Islamic Cleric, Sheikh Dr. Taofiq Amolegbe, urged the people to always be cautious of how they live daily as death can come calling at any time and comforted with the belief that only God can give and take without any prior notice.
Amolegbe, while condoling the Lasisi family, especially the husband and children who are the most grieved, assured that her place in paradise cannot be vacant as she served Allah diligently with her life and resources while on earth and charged those still alive to live worthy lives that can be emulated.
In an interview, the husband of the deceased, Comrade Akeem Lasisi, who described his late wife as a nice, cool headed, respectful, supportive woman prayed God to keep the children for him and grant the deceased eternal peace as He cannot be queried for taking what he gave to him.
Comrade Lasisi appreciated the State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun for the support both morally and financially to make him smile, all top government officials, workers and labour leaders for the huge support and encouragement at his trying period.
The children, Taiwo and Kehinde Lasisi said their mother was an amazing, loving, caring and selfless woman who placed humanity first in all she did, and added that the memories she left behind would be greatly missed.
Labour leaders including the immediate past National Secretary TUC, Women Commission, Comrade Omolara Sansa and the Chairman, Academic Staff Union of Secondary Schools (ASUSS), Comrade Oluwaseun Agbesanwa said Chief Mrs. Khadijat Omodunni Lasisi was humility personified, a philanthropist, stabiliser, and door who gave her all to make anyone who crossed her path comfortable and prayed God to give their leader, Comrade Akeem Lasisi the fortitude to bear the irreplaceable loss.
