The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, on Tuesday fired a warning at his detractors, asserting that he cannot be influenced against carrying out his duties.

Speaking during the commissioning of the rehabilitated Phase 2 Water Treatment Plant at Lower Usuma Dam in Ushafa, Bwari Area Council, Wike stressed that prayers or complaints will not deter him from doing what is right.

He recounted an incident from the day he assumed office as FCT Minister following his appointment by President Bola Tinubu.

According to Wike, he was advised to bring pastors to pray over the ministry because of past issues.

He said: “When I came to this place as a Minister, the first day I was to resume, people say go and bring pastors to pray because a lot of things have been done here. I said okay, I went there and nothing

“I will do my work and nobody can influence me, if you like pray for 24 hours it will not work.

If it’s right, it will work but if it’s for your own selfish interest, for the government not to move forward, it will not work.

“I will do what is right if you like cry from morning till night.”
