Ogun State Ministry of Education, Science and Technology has warned that no school in the State, either public or private is allowed to use more than one school uniform, there should not be indiscriminate change of textbooks and any school found over-riding the policy shall be heavily sanctioned.
The Commissioner in the Ministry, Prof. Abayomi Arigbabu who gave this warning in Abeokuta during the 2025/2026 academic session pre-resumption media engagement, said text books can be passed to siblings so far it is still within the year of review by the Ministry and that no two uniforms is allowed except for sport wears.
Prof. Arigbabu also frowned at some so called "big schools" abandoning Nigerian curriculum for foreign ones to desist from it, hence their license will be seized, positing that no foreign curriculum was presented during approval process.
He mentioned that, henceforth there should not be graduation from nursery classes to primary one, but a moderate ceremony without any tone of extortion was approved for learners moving from Pry 6 to JS1, JS 3 to SS1 and SS3, adding that no child should be deprived access to education on the account of burdensome fees.
Arigbabu reminded Principals and Headteachers of Public Primary and Secondary Schools that the present administration in the State is running a free education policy, thus, it becomes a criminal act for any school to make charges under whatever disguise, noting that anyone caught will be severely dealt with.
The Commissioner, while appreciating the private school owners for the support towards providing quality education for learner across the State, urged them to diligently run their activities with full compliance to the government policies.
