Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun has commended the Deputy Speaker, Hon. Bolanle Lateefat Ajayi for facilitating projects that are in line with community demand in some parts of her constituency.
The Governor, represented by the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Elemide Oludaisi, gave the commendation during the commissioning of a unit of Twenty (20) Open Stalls at Eredo Market along Ilaro- Owode Road, another set of 20 open stalls at Sayedero Market in Ilaro Town as well as a block of two classroom with store and office including sets of furniture at Ipaja Idogo, alongside over 100 solar street lights facilitied by the Deputy Speaker, in Yewa South State Constituency alongside over 100 set of solar street lights.
The Governor's representative, who led other lawmakers to the project commissioning, also lauded the State Government for allowing State Lawmakers facilitate developmental projects to complement the existing projects across the State, noting that it afforded people at the grassroot to have a fair share of the projects being executed under the ISEYA Agenda.
He appreciated the Deputy Speaker for facilitating the projects, which had revived the age-long markets and school, urging the people, especially the market women, to ensure the maintenance of the projects to enable it serve the people of the area.
Earlier in her speech on behalf of the political leaders, Chief (Mrs.) Iyabode Apampa, commended the Governor for approving the constituency projects, while appreciating the Deputy Speaker for her quality representation, describing her as a pride to women in politics, having brought back the over 70 years old Market which was almost going into extinction as a result of dilapidated structure.
In her remarks, Hon. Ajayi stated that the idea of facilitating the construction of open stalls in the over 70 year-old Market, was meant to preserve the legacy of the founding fathers of the area, and help strengthening the socio-economic activities of the constituency.
She added that the new block of classroom in First African Church Mission School, Ipaja-Idogo, was to replace the old dilapidated structure while providing a conductive learning atmosphere for the pupils and teachers in the school.
She appreciated Governor Dapo Abiodun for the for the privilege accorded the lawmakers to facilitate the laudable projects, which she described as unprecedented in the history of constituency project facilitation in the State.
According to her, the magnanimous approval of the Year 2025 Constituency Project by the State Governor for the lawmakers, had help reinforced their roles as the true representatives of the grassroots in their respective State Constituncies.
The Deputy Speaker further assured that her constituency would still benefit more in term of quality representation and more people oriented constituency projects, acknowledging the sustained collaborative efforts amongst all arms of government to further engender development in all parts of the State.
The team later paid a visit to the Olu and Paramount Ruler of Yewa land, Oba Kehinde Gbadewole Olugbenle, in company political and community leaders, market women, with the Deputy Speaker appreciating her constituents for their steadfast and support towards her legislative activities over the years, noting that their collective support had spurred her to deliver on the mandate given her.
In their respective remarks, the Chairman, Yewa South Local Government, Barr. Abraham Ogunsola, Iyaloja of Eredo, Chief Adijat Abolade and a community leader, Alhaji Tailat Sanusi, Headteacher, First African Church Mission School, Mr. Akinola Jelili Akinbami, applauded the Deputy Speaker for facilitating the projects, which they described as a true reflection of the people's needs.
