OGUN SEEKS CLERICS SUPPORT FOR 2026 HAJJ PAYMENT



 Ogun State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board (OGMPWB) has urged lslamic Clerics in the State to reach out to Muslims in their Communities to participate in 2026 Hajj exercise and the need to promptly make deposits on or before Monday 6th, October, 2025, in other to secure their seats.


          Executive Secretary of the Board, Alhaji Ajibola Taiwo, stated this at a sensitisation programme for the Leagues of Imams and Alfas at Egba, ijebu and Remo zones.


"We need the support of our esteemed clerics to sensitise Muslim faithfuls on the importance of early registration and payments for the Hajj Pilgrimage, with your backing, we are confident that more Muslims in Ogun State will be able to participate in the Hajj," he said.


          Ajibola added that in line with the directive of National Hajj Commission (NAHCON), all States are to ensure that the sum of (N8,500,000.00) Eight milliom, Five Hundred Thousand Naira ,Hajj deposit would close by October 6,2025, pending the final Hajj fare announcement by (NAHCON)


          He appreciated the Leagues of Imams and Alfas for their previous support, saying their collaboration would guarantee a successful Hajj operation in the State.


          Speaking, Relationship Manager, Jaiz Bank PLC, Abeokuta Branch, Mr.Akeem Akinlolu, highlighted the benefits of the Hajj Savings Scheme, a programme organised by the National Hajj Commission (NAHCON) in partnership with Jaiz Bank.


"This is an arrangement organized by National Hajj Commission (NAHCON) in partnership with Jaiz Bank is to provide a long-term savings platform for people who need to build their savings for Hajj.


          "Once you saved up to the full amount for Hajj payment, you will be notified that you now qualify to perform Hajj and your savings will be automatically transferred to pay for your Hajj slots,’’ Akinlolu explained.


          He added that intending Pilgrims could open an account through States Pilgrims Welfare Board offices, the Hajj Savings Scheme web portal or any Jaiz Bank branch, with requirements including Bank verification Number (BVN) National identification Number (NIN), digital photograph, and electricity bill.


          In his remarks, Chief lmam of Remo Land, Fadeelat Sheik Sheu Junaid, commended the Ogun State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board for their past success in managing Hajj Operations, promising to support them for the 2026Hajj exercise.


          He appreciated the Amir Hajj for 2025, Alhaji Adebayo Apelogun, describing him as a good ambassador of Remo Land and praying for his continued success.
