Epe Local Government Council Area of Lagos state, Chairman, Princess Surah Animashaun, has said her political opponents can not deny her achievements since becoming the council’s chair in the council area of Lagos state.

Animashaun spoke in Epe local government secretariat, Ita-Marin, while interacting with the legislative members and staff of the council.

The Chairman, who pleaded with the royal fathers and religious leaders to be agents of her administration by spreading news of her good works and achievements in the council area, said she has been relying on divine guidance in her decision-making as chairperson.

“At the centre of council power is God and His divine will. This truth underscores my unwavering commitment to praise God, both in private and at public functions. Our dear God has greatly blessed us in the past years.

“We recorded a superlative performance which even our opponents can not deny. There is the evident hand of God in council decisions. In critical situations, the divine guides us to the right choice.

“I therefore expressed the deep appreciation of our government to clerics, men of God and traditional leaders within the council area and beyond. You are the agents of God in our midst. Since I assumed office four years ago. I can attest and assert that it has been God all the way.” Princess Animashaun added.

She further said, “I stand before you today to declare that we will not abandon the path of God. We will continue to serve the people diligently and faithfully. Genuine service to the people is a strong way to worship God.

"We will continue to pursue pro-people policies and programmes. We will not abuse the power conferred in us. Rather, we will deploy instruments of the council to develop the people and our dear local government.

“I call on our religious and traditional rulers to be my agents among the people. Let the message go to the people that this government is ever dedicated to serving the masses. We will continue to work for the people and by the people.”

In their separate remarks, the Chairman, Nigeria Union Of Local Government Employees (NULGE) of the council, Comrade Omolara Ayeola, and ward A3 Councillor, Taiwo Balogun Orunbon both prayed for Princess Animashaun to record more success in office.

It should be recalled that recently in a video interview released by the Television Continental (TVC) on journalists hangout underscored Princess Animashaun's achievements high alongside three other Chairmen in Lagos state, as well as most performing administration in the history of Epe local government and among the comity of councils in Lagos state.
