The Association of Primary School Headteachers of Nigeria (AOPSHON), Ogun State Chapter, alongside teachers across the state, has expressed profound gratitude to Governor Dapo Abiodun for approving Grade Level 17 for primary school teachers in Ogun State.

The State Chairman of the association, Comrade Folake Onabajo, gave the commendation while speaking with journalists in her office at Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta. She described the approval as a historic decision that has restored dignity, boosted motivation, and renewed hope within the teaching profession, particularly at the foundational level of education.

Comrade Onabajo applauded the governor for his clear demonstration of commitment to fairness, capacity building, and the professional growth of educators in the state.

“We are eternally grateful for the approval of the Consolidated Salary Structure for Headteachers-General, a landmark achievement that recognizes the critical leadership role of headteachers in the effective administration of primary education,” she said.

According to her, the gesture has significantly strengthened teachers’ morale, enhanced productivity, and reaffirmed the administration’s resolve to prioritize education as a key driver of sustainable development. She added that the laudable intervention would undoubtedly translate into improved learning outcomes and a stronger educational system for Ogun State.

The AOPSHON chairman also commended leaders and stakeholders who contributed in various ways to the achievement, noting that their support, advocacy, and unwavering commitment to the education sector played a vital role in bringing the approvals to fruition.

She assured Governor Abiodun of the association’s continued support, cooperation, and unwavering loyalty to his administration, while reaffirming AOPSHON’s firm commitment to the advancement of education in Ogun State. She further prayed that Almighty God would continue to grant the governor wisdom, strength, and good health to lead the state to greater heights.
