……..Withdraws Court Case
The Awujale Interregnum Administrative Council (AIAC), headed by Dr. Sunny Kuku, the Ogbeni Oja of Ijebuland, has announced a successful reconciliation with the Olisa of Ijebu-Ode, High Chief Rasheed Adesanya.
The development was disclosed during a meeting between the Olisa and members of the AIAC held at the Awujale’s palace.
In a communiqué issued after the meeting, Dr. Kuku stated that following recent engagements, consultations, and a collective commitment to sustaining peace, unity, and development in Ijebuland, the court case earlier filed by the Olisa and pending before the High Court in Ijebu-Ode has now been formally withdrawn.
According to the communiqué, “The Olisa of Ijebu-Ode has extended a hand of fellowship to the Awujale Interregnum Administrative Council and expressed readiness to work harmoniously with the Council. He has affirmed his commitment to cooperating fully to ensure a credible transition process toward the selection of the new Awujale of Ijebuland.”
The Council expressed appreciation for this gesture of unity and reaffirmed its dedication to carrying all critical stakeholders along as it continues its mandate.
Speaking after the meeting, the Olisa of Ijebu-Ode, Rasheed Adesanya, confirmed his satisfaction with the reconciliation process and reiterated his readiness to work with the AIAC toward a peaceful and transparent selection of the next Awujale.
Also reacting, the Chairman of Ijebu-Ode Local Government, Hon. Dare Alebiosu, commended the reconciliation, noting that all parties are now prepared to work together to ensure a successful outcome.
