The Chairman of Sagamu Local Government, Hon. Jubril Odulate, has called on residents of Sagamu local government area to embrace love, unity, and peaceful coexistence as they celebrate the 2025 Christmas season.

Odulate described the festive period as a time for reflection, reconnection, and the strengthening of communal bonds, noting that the birth of Jesus Christ symbolises peace, hope and togetherness.

He encouraged residents to use the Christmas season to reconnect with family members, friends, neighbours and old acquaintances, especially those they may not have reached out to in a long while, saying, ‘’peace begins within the family and gradually extends to neighbourhoods and the wider society’’.

“Let us share kindness, forgiveness, and joy, because these are the true values of Christmas,” He said, stressing that compassion and unity remain vital for the growth and harmony of Sagamu communities.

While urging residents to enjoy the celebrations, he stressed the importance of responsible conduct throughout the festive period. He advised citizens to remain security conscious, avoid unnecessary risks, and strictly obey traffic regulations to ensure the safety of lives and property.

He appealed to residents to look out for one another, adding that collective responsibility would help ensure a peaceful and incident-free holiday across all wards and communities within the local government area.

Expressing gratitude on behalf of the Sagamu Local Government, the Chairman thanked residents for their support, cooperation and trust throughout the year, describing their contributions as instrumental to the council’s progress and stability. He concluded by wishing all residents a joyful Christmas and a restful holiday season filled with peace, good health, and renewed hope for a brighter future.
