No fewer than 95 candidates have been nominated for consideration for the vacant Awujale of Ijebuland stool, following the commencement of the Fusengbuwa Ruling House nomination meeting.
The nomination process, which took place in Ijebu-Ode, had 94 male and surprisingly a female, making a total of 95 aspirants was attended by members of the Fusengbuwa Ruling House, where the nomination and secondment of candidates were carried out in line with tradition.
Speaking with journalists during the happening, Chairman and Head of the Fusengbuwa Ruling House, Otunba Abdul Lateef Owoyemi, disclosed that after the nomination process, names of the candidates that scale through would be forwarded to the Afobajes for screening, in which whosoever emerge would eventually be presented to the Ogun State Government for consideration and approval.
Also speaking, the Onirete of Irete-Ijebu, Oba Abdulganiu Yesufu, commended the process, describing it as smooth and orderly, while he expressed confidence that the exercise would produce the most suitable candidate for the vacant stool.
It was also observed that certificates of nomination were issued to each of the 95 candidates at the end of the exercise.
