Ijebu North APC Youth Leader Empowers Constituents, Backs Governor Abiodun’s Senatorial Bid

In a bold move to promote grassroots development and youth empowerment, the All Progressives Congress (APC) Youth Leader in Ijebu North Local Government, Hon. Mrs. Ramota Rabiu, has launched a comprehensive empowerment initiative aimed at fostering self-reliance among constituents.

The event, held at the Ijebu North Local Government Secretariat in Ijebu-Igbo, attracted a large turnout of beneficiaries, party faithful, and community leaders.

The empowerment programme featured the distribution of various items, including sewing machines, generators, clippers, 6kg gas cylinders, and household utensils to selected beneficiaries across the 11 wards of the local government area.

Speaking at the event, Hon. Mrs. Rabiu stated that the initiative is part of her ongoing commitment to giving back to party faithful and supporting the Ogun State Government’s efforts to reduce unemployment and poverty.

“This is a small but significant step towards equipping our people—especially youths and women—with the tools they need to become self-sufficient,” she said.

In her remarks, she appreciated Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, for his unwavering belief in the potential of young people across the state.

“Your commitment to youth development has transformed lives across Ogun State and has made young people the cornerstone of your administration’s legacy,” she said.

She further called on the governor to answer what she described as a “call to higher service.”

“With one voice, we the youths of Ijebu North call on Governor Prince Dapo Abiodun to step forward when the time comes and represent Ogun East in the Senate,” Mrs. Rabiu added.

Also speaking, the Secretary to the State Government, Mr. Tokunbo Talabi, represented by Dr. Ejalonibu Muritala, described youth empowerment and upliftment as sacrosanct.

He commended the APC Youth Leader and the party leadership in Ijebu North for initiating what he described as a laudable programme.

“This event is a statement of intent—an affirmation that we recognise the urgency of investing in the energy, creativity, and enterprise of our youth,” he said.

Talabi assured beneficiaries of continued support, noting that the programme aligns with the vision of the Federal Government under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, which prioritises youth inclusion, skills development, enterprise support, and job creation. He added that it also complements the consistent youth-focused initiatives of Governor Dapo Abiodun’s administration through education, vocational training, and entrepreneurship development.

The House of Representatives member representing Ijebu North/Ijebu East/Odogbolu Federal Constituency, Hon. Adegbesan Joseph, lauded the initiative, stating that empowering youths politically and economically is vital for national development.

Similarly, the Executive Chairman of Ijebu North Local Government, Hon. Omobolaji Odusanya, noted that impactful empowerment programmes would help reduce poverty and unemployment. He urged beneficiaries to make judicious use of the items provided.

Some beneficiaries, including Alli Kikelomo and Arobieke Oluwole, expressed their appreciation, describing the programme as timely and life-changing.

Dignitaries present at the event included Hon. Foluso Adegbesan, Hon. Bolaji Odusanya, Hon. Mosunmola (APC Chairman, Ijebu North Local Government), Hon. Steven Adeyemi, Gbenga Nuberu Assistant Secretary of the APC, among others.
