Chief Whip of the Ogun State House of Assembly and Member representing Ijebu Ode State Constituency, Hon.(Mrs) Egunjobi Bakare Omolola Serifat, has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of Chief (Mrs.) Lucia Onabowale Onabanjo, former First Lady of Ogun State.

In a condolence message issued on Tuesday, Hon. Bakare described the late matriarch as a woman of grace, strength, and enduring faith whose life of service left an indelible mark on Ogun State and beyond.

The Lawmaker noted that Chief (Mrs.) Onabanjo, widow of the first civilian Governor of Ogun State, late Chief Victor Olabisi Onabanjo, was a pillar of support during a defining period in the state’s democratic history, adding that her legacy of humility and dedication to family values would remain unforgettable.

Hon. Bakare extended her heartfelt condolences to the Onabanjo family, praying that God grants them the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss. 

She also urged the people of Ogun State to take solace in the fulfilled and impactful life she lived.
