LG CHIEFS TASKED ON PEOPLE-ORIENTED PROJECTS
Chairmen of the thirty-seven (37) Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs) across Ogun State have been charged to embark on meaningful and people-oriented projects to enhance the living standard of their people.
The Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Chief Jide Ojuko, stated this while rounding off the three (3) day assessment visit to the LCDAs across the three (3) Senatorial Districts of the State.
According to him, doing so would not only address the problem of urban/rural migration but also make rural areas more conducive for people and make them feel the presence of the government.
‘’On this note, I urge all political office holders, career officers, traditional rulers and the indigenes of the Local Council Development Areas across the State to collaborate and co-operate to ensure sustainability, support government programmes and policies towards enhancing socio-economic growth of the State’’, Ojuko remarked.
Responding, the Chairmen of Leguru LCDA, Hon. Ololade Onakoya, Hon. Rafiu Awoyemi of Sagamu and Hon. Olalekan Adebanjo, Ijebu-Ode South LCDA, appreciated the commitment of the Senator Ibikunle Amosun’s government to get dividends of democracy to the nooks and crannies of the State, highlighting projects embarked upon by their administrations to include road rehabilitation and construction, free health and medical surgeries and construction of modern lock-up shops amongst others.
