Sagamu Local Government in collaboration with Demola Awosanya Foundation, Sagamu, has empowered over 2000 youths on various trades such as, catering, hairdressing and make-up, as part of measures to tackle unemployment and make beneficiaries self-reliant.

The Chairman Transition Committee of the Local Government, Hon. Hon. Banjo lauded Prince Dapo Abiodun’s administration for being active towards providing solutions to the yearnings of the people, especially the youths, describing him as an epitome of what a good governance stands for.

In her remarks, Special Adviser to the Governor on Primary and Secondary Education, who is also the Chief Executive Officer of the Foundation, Mrs. Ronke Soyombo said the programme would serve as a veritable tool of curbing major life challenges among youths such as poverty, indolence and joblessness among others.

Soyombo posited that the initiative was to re-ignite her father’s legacy by engaging in Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) that would benefit majority of youths and make them financially independent, urging the beneficiaries to be creative with their newly acquired skills to meet up with 21st century expectations.

On his part, the member representing Sagamu Constituency 1, Hon. Segun Oladunjoye expressed gratitude to the organisers of the event, advising the graduands to maximise the opportunity by doing well in their trades.

Responding on behalf of other beneficiaries, Mr. Bakare Oluwaseun and Mrs. Abimbola Dauda, appreciated the organisers for the training and gifts, promising to put in their best and contribute positively to the development of the Local Government Areas and the State at large.
