Ijebu Central Reps aspirant, Adeola Azeez, improves traffic flow, safety with road signs installation

…reiterates plans to upgrade infrastructure, facilitate trade

Frontline House of Representatives aspirant for Ijebu Central Federal Constituency, Adeola Azeez, has sponsored the installation of road signs providing direction and other driving instructions to motorists plying roads connecting various communities within the constituency.

This, she said, was done in a bid to improve the flow of traffic, ensure road safety and aid navigation, especially for trade partners and visitors seeking access to communities in the area. The road signs were commissioned on Easter Sunday, April 17, in the company of religious leaders, community heads, age-group leaders and other key stakeholders, with more road signs expected to be placed in different areas of the constituency.

The gesture, widely hailed as a crucial intervention that addresses a long-noted traffic challenge, forms part of Azeez’s extensive contributions to community development through the Adeola Azeez Community Care Foundation (AACCF).

Only recently, to celebrate women’s month, she donated cash grants and food staples to over 300 vulnerable and disabled women selected from Ijebu-Ode, Odogbolu and Ijebu North-East local governments. This was in addition to efforts to upgrade public facilities such as health centres within the constituency.

In her speech at the commissioning, Azeez emphasized the importance of movement and access to trade and other beneficial interactions necessary for the sustenance of peaceful relations and income opportunities. She said the ACCF donated the road signs to facilitate the smoother conduct of these interactions, notably by ensuring convenient navigation of roads within the constituency, particularly access points and intersections that may prove confusing to visitors and potential investors who are unfamiliar with the local road network.

She reiterated her commitment to opening the constituency to investments, while also stating the importance of deliberate and strategic investments in infrastructure.

Stakeholders at the event praised Adeola Azeez for her dedication to the development of Ijebu Central, saying that she has demonstrated her capacity for impactful leadership and clarity of vision for bringing the constituency forward. They expressed gratitude for her consistent interventions and pledged support for her aspiration.

Adeola Azeez is a renowned women’s advocate and seasoned banking professional with over three decades of work experience in the finance sector. She is currently the West Africa Partner at Sigma Risk, an international financial organization. She also co-founded WIMBIZ, Nigeria’s leading non-profit organization for women, in 2002.

She is a leading voice for good governance and her impressive resume, alongside a credible track record of meaningful advocacy for good governance, has sparked widespread optimism that her emergence would bring about the delivery of dividends of democracy to the people of Odogbolu, Ijebu-Ode, and Ijebu North-East.

She is the daughter of Afenifere leader, Pa Ayo Adebanjo.
