Rains of Scholarships as Iwogbe House defeats Attacker, Behappy clinches Gold Medals.

 


The Purple House also known as Odutayo Abiodun Oluwole (Iwogbe) house was declared the winner at the Annual Interhouse Sports competition of the Lakunce Citadel Schools, Oru-Ijebu after winning 18 gold medals while the closest rival Yellow House also known as Hon Abudulmojeed Adekoya (Attacker) House coasted home, 9 gold medals.


At the epoch event which was held yesterday at the Oru-Refuge Camp, Oduniyi Adelaja (Behappy) house went home with the Bronze medals, while the forth and fifth positions were won by Hon Adegbesan's House and Timesquare House respectively.


While delivering his speech, Odutayo Abiodun who was represented by Mr Oduwole appreciated the School for the honour bestowed on him as a Patron of the Purple House, and the meritorious award presented to him. He assured the Schools and Students of his support at all times. He further gave cash support, prizes and free exercise books to the college and students.

"I am honoured by this meritorious Award in recognition of my contributions to education, indeed it is a call to serve much more better, which I can assure you all that, we have just started. More importantly, I appreciate this honour for me to be the patron of the purple house, I pledge not to take it for granted", Iwogbe stated. 


While presenting the Cup to Iwogbe House, the Chairman of the occasion, Chief Dele Odule expressed his satisfaction over the performance of the athletes of the house, he noted that Iwogbe house is no doubt the best in both track and field event has seen, while admonishing them to keep up with the winning spirit even in their academic pursuit.


In a related development, there was a rain of scholarships to exceptional sporting students by the Chairman of the occasion, Chief Dele Odule a veteran multilingual Nollywood Award-wining Actor. 



The event had dignitaries in attendance including HRH Oba Abdurasaq Olufemi Adebanjo, the Oloru of Oru Kingdom, Tpl Ola Okubena, Mr Soji Idowu, Hon Adedapo David, Hon Abass Lanre, Asiwaju Adenowo, Dr Ogunkoya, Deacon Akilo, Chief Joseph Ogunlana, Chief Mrs Adetoun Oduwole and many others
