SPECIAL NEEDS SCHOOLS, LIBRARIES GET FACELIFT IN OGUN

Ogun State Government has concluded rehabilitation of Simeon Adebo library, Abeokuta, and the Alhaja Salamotu Kuku library, Ijebu-Ode, while it has commenced reconstruction of other four State government own libraries across the State.

This is just as it also concluded the renovation of the Daniel Akintonde Model School, Abeokuta while the remaining four other Special Needs Schools own by the government are ongoing.

Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Prof Abayomi Arigbabu made this known in Abeokuta, saying that the boys’ hostel at the Daniel Akintonde Model School, Abeokuta, which had been unhabitable before the beginning of the present administration is now habitable, due to the intervention of the present government, teaching and learning activities have been made easier for the children.

Arigbabu pointed out that the newly renovated State libraries would be more accommodating for learners and readers, saying there are improvements in the facilities and updates on reading materials available for people that are seeking more knowledge.

“The Governor is giving education a total package in the revitalisation agenda, we are not only renovating and refurbishing schools. but also taking care of the libraries.

We want to encourage the readers and users, hence the facelift. Our special needs children too are being given adequate care through the provision of amenities that will make schools easier and comfortable for them”, he explained.

In her remark, the headteacher of the School, Mrs. Idowu Olubukola said the newly renovated hostel would help immensely in making life comfortable for the learners while applauding the Governor for the intervention in all the Special Needs Schools.
