NGO HONOURS OGIRS CHAIRMAN AS "SERVICE AMBASSADOR"

A Non-Governmental Organization (NGO), with its Headquarters in Abuja, 'Advocacy For Peace And Values Re-Orientation', has presented a 'Certificate Of Integrity Stewardship' to the Executive Chairman, Ogun Internal Revenue Service (OGIRS), Mr. Olugbenga Anthony Olaleye and awarded/inducted him as "Service Ambassador", for outstanding performance in the discharge of his duties.


The Executive Director of the Organization, Comrade Abubakar Oyibo while decorating the OGIRS Chairman, at the Revenue Office Headquarters, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta said that the award was in recognition of the Chairman's selfless service to humanity, Ogun State and South West, Nigeria as whole.


"Indeed, the organization decided to confer the award on you after a careful monitoring of your selfless, patriotic, dynamic and untiring efforts in providing efficient and effective leadership to the entire Agency and its workforce as a whole, Oyibo said


He said that the public accessibility and obedience to the rule of law of the Chairman could not be overemphasized, noting that he should be honoured for his contribution to the socio-economic development of the State through good governance and exemplary leadership.


In his response, Olaleye said that he was humbled by the recognition and the induction by the organization, saying that the Agency was doing all it could to ensure efficient service delivery, growth and development of the state.


He said that he was overwhelmed for singled him out from the South West Geopolitical Zone for the award, said that the gesture of the organization would go a long way to boost his morale and spur him to do more, saying that it is imperative for the entire staff of the Agency to be fair, just, not biased and be committed to their job.


"Let's keep on doing good, so as to be found worthy in life, we don't need to be corrupt or involved in shady deals because we want to make it in life. Poverty is not an excuses to be corrupt, but it is a matter of choice to be good or otherwise. Let's do the right thing at the right time


"In fact, I will always remember this day and the honour being bestowed on me, this is coming from a very young and vibrant organization which has good mission for our country, I really hold the organization in higher esteem", Olaleye said


 He said that the award was dedicated to the God Almighty, his wife and the State government  for the opportunity to serve and his team at OGIRS for effective team working and support, adding that the award would spur him to continue service to  humanity.
