Klopp ponders taking more ‘risks’ in transfer market as Last minutes bid could be made for Serie A Star.

Nicolo Barella has provided food for thought for Liverpool and Jurgen Klopp after netting a stunner for Inter Milan.

The Italian midfielder found the top corner of the net with a wonderful volley in Inter’s 3-1 victory over Cremonese in Serie A, a result which has given Simone Inzaghi’s side their third win in four matches.

The Reds are on the lookout for a midfielder going into the final days of the summer transfer window following a number of injury woes in the middle of the park.

Barella, a deep-lying playmaker who joined Inter in 2020, is a player who has been admired by the Reds for some time with Liverpool linked with a £60million move for the player earlier this summer.

While it remains to be seen if Klopp’s side will pursue a deal for the 25-year-old, the German head coach’s comments in his recent press conference suggested that he could be willing to sanction a big deal in order to help his side progress.

Asked if he’s been backed by the owners, Klopp said: “Look what I don’t like about [the question] is if I say now, ‘I’m not sure’, then we make a massive thing of it, but it’s not.

“I realise it was always like this. Is it always easy? No. Do we discuss these kinds of things in public? Of course not! Why would we?

“And we won’t start now with it.

“Let me say it like this; from time to time I would be ready to risk a bit more. But, how I said, I don’t decide that. It’s fine.

“We try everything until somebody tells us it is now the deadline and we cannot do anymore, in that moment I don’t think one second back.

“That’s what we have to all do then. Let’s go from there, let’s make something special of this team now. It’s a great team, they have everything.

“Yes, we already had problems and we didn’t always play great football but we will really try to squeeze everything out of this season.”
