2023 IS A CRUCIAL YEAR TO OUR GOVERNMENT -OGUN COMMISSIONER

Ogun State Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Alhaji Waheed Odusile has disclosed that the year 2023 is a crucial year for the Prince Dapo Abiodun-led government, as the electioneering period approaches.

Odusile made the disclosure in Abeokuta during the Ministry's Interdenominational Thanksgiving service for the new year, charging officers in the Ministry to ensure prompt and effective dissemination of government’s activities, policies and programmes to the public.

The Commissioner said, "for us in the Ministry of Information and Strategy, the year is important because very soon campaigns will start and elections will be conducted. I believe that prayers to God will protect and help us in all our endeavours”.

He enjoined the staffers to always keep fit, learn to forgive one another and desist from holding grudges against anyone, noting that the unwholesome attitude could affect one’s health negatively.

Speaking earlier, Permanent Secretary in the Ministry, Alhaji Waheed Adesina urged the staffers to take good care of their health and be more security conscious, stating that Information Officers should do all within their means to develop their capacity and engage more in the two-way communication process by informing the public on activities of the government, while not leaving out the feedback from the people to the government.

In their separate admonitions, the Associate Pastor of Living Faith Church, Abeokuta, Pastor Ade Oladele and the Chief Imam of the Governor's Office Secretariat Mosque, Alhaji Abdulfatai Buhari implored workers to always seek for knowledge, saying “nothing new will be achieved or change for the better if there is no intentional effort to improve”.

In their remarks, two of the staffers in the Ministry, Mrs. Damilola Omoniyi and Mr. Tunde Olayiwola commended the effort of the agency for organising the prayer, among other lofty initiatives, assuring the management of the Officers' commitment to the discharge of their duties.
