Two Women Arrested In Ibadan Over Alleged Same-Sex Activity, One Suspect At Large

The Oyo State Police Command on Tuesday apprehended two women, Abimbola Omirin Awotile and Semilogo Olaosebikan, for alleged involvement in same-sex activities in the Molete area of Ibadan, the state capital.

According to eyewitness accounts, the incident attracted attention from local residents before police arrived at the scene. The matter has since been charged to the Iyaganku High Court for further legal proceedings.

Both suspects have been arraigned and remanded at the correctional facility in Iyaganku, pending trial.

A witness, who requested anonymity due to professional reasons, spoke with journalists and confirmed being present during the incident. He also noted that a third woman, identified as Mrs. Temitope Oloruntoba, is currently at large and being sought by police.

"It was one of the area boys who brought my attention to the situation. I later learned that Mrs. Temitope Oloruntoba's whereabouts remain unknown," he said. "Following their arrest, the two suspects were taken to court the next day and have since been remanded."

As of the time of filing this report, all efforts to reach the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) for Oyo State Command, Adewale Osifeso, were unsuccessful. Calls to his mobile phone went unanswered.
