A bill recognizing the change of the name of the Ogun State Health Technology institute into the Ogun State Polytechnic of Health and Allied Sciences has been signed into law by Governor Dapo Abiodun.
The Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun while signing the bill into law in his office this morning shortly before the dissolution of the State Executive Council, disclosed that the bill is one of several bills that has been passed by the House of Assembly and brought to him for his assent
It would be recalled that Governor Dapo Abiodun had on the 15th of February, 2023 announced the change of name of the Ogun State Health Technology institute into the Ogun State Polytechnic of Health and Allied Sciences during his engagement with the students of the institution amd campaign tour of Ijebu North East Local Government area of the state
Abiodun while congratulating the Governing council and students of the institution on the acheivment, commended the State House of Assembly for their support.
" Today, it gives me great pleasure to sign this bill into law, this is a bill that has been long desired.
" It is a bill to amend the name of the Ogun State Health Technology institute, Ilese, the institution will now be called The Ogun State Polytechnic of Health and Allied Sciences.
" The new name of this institution shall now be called The Ogun State Polytechnic of Health and Allied Sciences, I want to congratulate the governing council of that institution and all students of that institution because this is a name change that they had been clamoring for, for quite sometime," he said.
Earlier, the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon Olakunle Oluomo commended the Governor for expanding the scope of the school.
