MRS. CAROLINE WOMILOJU, MATRIARCH OF THE WOMILOJU FAMILY OF OGERE, HAS GONE TO BE WITH THE LORD

The death has been announced of the Matriarch of the WOMILOJU Family of Ogere Remo, Mrs. Caroline Ebunoluwa WOMILOJU.

Mrs. WOMILOJU's glorious transition occurred on Thursday, 11th January, 2024, after an illness.


Born on December, 1944 at Itapa Ekiti, Ekiti State, Nigeria, into the family of Bishop and Mrs. Michael Ajayi JAWOLUSI, the late educationist and community leader, was married to the LATE AROLE KANKANBIINA ROYAL FAMILY OF OGERE-REMO Very Rev (Sir) Frederick Oyenuga WOMILOJU (KCW) an Ogere Remo-born renowned educationist and Methodist clergy.



A holder of the Modern School Certificate, and Grade II Teachers Certificate, the late WOMILOJU also obtained the Associate Certificate in Education from the University of Lagos.

Her teaching career took her to various towns in Oyo and Ogun States, before she retired as a Headmistress I in year 2000.


A devout Christian, Mrs. WOMILOJU was during her lifetime, a Lay Preacher of the Methodist Church, Nigeria; and member of the Egbe Itesiwaju of Methodist Church Nigeria, Ijoku, Sagamu. She was until her death, the President of Christian Ladies League, Ogere; Adviser, Christian Association of Nigeria, Ogere; Adviser, Boys Brigade, Methodist Church Nigeria, Ogere; and Patroness, Ladies and Girls Fellowship, Methodist Church Nigeria, Ogere.


The deceased was also the President, Women's Fellowship, Methodist Church Nigeria, Agbowa, Sagamu Circuit; a Susan Wesley Awardee of the Methodist Church of Nigeria, Ogere Remo; as well as an Achiever's Awardee of the Diocesan Women's Fellowship of Methodist Church of Nigeria, Diocese of Remo.


A socialite of repute, she was the President of the Ladies Clusters Club of Sagamu.


She is survived by many children and grandchildren.


Burial arrangements shall be announced by the family later.
