Again, Multichoice Nigeria announces price increase for DStv and GOtv packages

Multichoice Nigeria Limited, the leading pay-TV operator, has disclosed another price adjustment across its DStv and GOtv packages, set to take effect from May 1, 2024.

The company cited Nigeria’s “rise in the cost of business operations” as the reason behind the price increments.

According to a notice signed by Multichoice CEO John Ugbe and distributed to subscribers via email, the new prices for DStv packages reflect significant changes.

The Premium package will now cost N37,000 monthly, up from the current N29,500 subscription fee. Similarly, the Compact+ bouquet will increase to N25,000 from N19,800 monthly.

Subscribers on the Compact bouquet will now pay N15,700, compared to N12,500, while those on the Confam package will pay N9,300, up from N7,400.

Under the new pricing structure, viewers of the DStv Yanga bouquet will see a monthly subscription increase to N5,100 from the current N4,200.

Padi subscribers will be charged N3,600 instead of the current N2,950, and HDPVR Access subscribers will pay N5,000, compared to the current N4,000.

Multichoice announced adjustments across its packages for GOtv users as well.

Customers on the Supa Plus package will now pay N15,700, up from N12,500, while the Supa bouquet will increase to N9,600 from N7,600.

The GOtv Max subscription has been raised to N7,200 from N5,700, and the Jolli package will now cost N4,850, up from N3,950.

Additionally, users on the lowest GOtv package, Jinja, will pay N3,300 monthly, compared to the current N2,700, and Smallie subscribers will be charged N1,575 instead of N1,300.

Multichoice’s announcement follows two previous subscription fee increases in the past year.
