BLESSED BOMODE OKU SOCIETY, IPERU CELEBRATES 60TH ANNIVERSARY, COMMISSIONS SECRETARIAT/MULTIPURPOSE HALL

The Blessed Bomode Oku Society, Iperu Remo, Ogun State, a foremost socio-cultural age-grade group,  will celebrate its 60 years of existence on

 Saturday, 31st May, 2025.


The event will  feature the commissioning of the BBOS Secretariat/Multipurpose Hall, a project initiated by the group fourteen years ago.

It will also feature installation of chiefs and presentation of awards of honour to deserving members. 


Venue of the event which holds between 11am and 7pm is the BBOS Secretariat/Multipurpose Hall, besides Foursquare Gospel Church, Imale, off Ilisan Road, Iperu Remo.


The society was founded in 1964 by the parents of Tajudeen AMUSA, the current President; Fausat OSO-ADESUYI, Lady President; and High Chief Rasaq OSO (Oshopey), the Apena of Iperu and Baale of Iragbon, who is the Olootu Asipa Egbe from inception. 

Then known as Egbe Bomode Oku with members spreading across those born between the years 1964 and 1965, the group changed its name to Blessed Bomode Oku Society forty years ago to create a distinct identity. 


The society's aims and objectives, according to a statement credited to the Secretary and Giwa Egbe, Prince Stephen Oluwole ADEKALU, includes promotion of unity and love among members and within the community; and contributing positively to the growth of Iperu and its environs.

The society also exists to complement government efforts.


Officers of the society also include the Lady Secretary, Alhaja Sadiat Lola ADESINA; Treasurer, Mr. Ganiu AKADIRI; Asiwaju Egbe, Prince Larry Muse GBADEBO; Asiwaju Obinrin, Dr. (Mrs.) Oluwatoyin Sakirat MADEIN; and the Iyalaje Egbe, Dr. Pero Ajoke SOFOWORA.


The society has a membership strength of over 100 based at home and in the diaspora, who are all doing well in their chosen professions. Among them are successful business owners and top civil servants who have attained the peak of their career in both the state and federal civil services, including the first female Accountant General of the Federation, Dr. Oluwatoyin Sakirat MADEIN, who retired few months ago after an unblemished career and her meritorious service to the country.


The apala crooner, Musiliu Haruna ISHOLA-BELLO is slated to perform to the admiration of members and invited guests.

Among the dignitaries expected to grace the occasion are Barr. Olusola IDOWU, SAN, Vice Chairman, Board of Trustees, Iperu Akesan Development Association; Chairman for the Day; High Chief (Mrs.) Aderonke SHODIYA, Iyalode of Iperu Akesanland, Chairperson; Otunba Olakole OLATUNJI, Asoju Oba of Iperu Akesanland, Special Guest of Honouŕ; and Chief (Mrs.) Dame Adesola Oluyinka ADEBUTU, Iyaloja General, Ikenne Local Government, as Mother of the Day.
