The Ogun State Government has commended the Ministry of Culture and Tourism for designing the official Mascot for the 22nd National Sports Festival.
The Commissioner for Sports Development, Hon. Wasiu Isiaka who made this commendation while fielding questions from journalists, revealed that accolades for the Ministry had been enormous since the Mascot was revealed several weeks ago.
He noted that the Building Our Future Together Agenda of the current administration was being put into practice, as Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) of government have been collaborating with the Ministry of Sports Development not to just deliver the National Sports Festival, but to also create a deeper synergy among the various MDAs.
He stated that the State was well prepared to set standards for future hosts of the festival, as another initiative of the Local Organizing Committee, was the creation of a situation room/contact centre, where stranded visitors could call for directions. He noted that a lot of stakeholders were being partnered to ensure its smooth running.
The Commissioner while reiterating the State's preparedness, submitted that the LOC would leave no stone unturned to ensure the Ogun Standard was unfolded while the games lasts, saying everything was being put in place for the best welfare system of all the participating states; the athletes, officials and visitors.
"One very unique thing about the Ogun State Civil Service is that, when you give them a task, you will be amazed at the results and the level at which the job was completed. The Ministry of Culture and Tourism did a perfect job with the Mascot design. It only shows how excellent and brilliant the Civil Service is, in Nigeria", he said.
Speaking on the security of lives and property during and after the games, Hon. Isiaka revealed that capable hands in various security agencies and outfits had been assigned with the duty of securing the lives and property of residents, spectators and visitors.
