.......Appoints New National Executive Council.
The National Secretariat of the Makun High School Old Students Association (MAHSOSA) is pleased to announce the appointment of a new National Executive Council following the resolution reached at the association’s recently held National Congress at the school premises in Sagamu, Ogun State.
This leadership transition marks a significant milestone in the ongoing effort to reposition and revitalize MAHSOSA for greater impact and inclusive growth across all graduating sets.
Pursuant to Constitutional provisions and the collective decision of the Congress, the outgone Executives led by Mrs. Adepero Oyelami were formally dissolved by the Chairman of the Board of Trustees (BoT), Rotarian Sunday Oyeyemi, following the expiration of their tenure. This decision was made to ensure a smooth transition of leadership and adherence to the Association's guiding principles.
The newly appointed National Executive Council Members are as follows:
CSP Ibrahim Babatunde – National President
Engr. Musa Ogunnubi – National General Secretary
Mrs. Modupe Otinwa – National Treasurer
Mr. Olabiyi Olayinka – National Financial Secretary
Comrade Adewale Hammed Bashiru (Hon. Prince Lahbash) – National Public Relations Officer
The newly appointed National President, CSP Ibrahim Babatunde, in his acceptance remarks, expressed gratitude to the Board of Trustees and the general body for entrusting him with the responsibility of leading the Association. He pledged to focus on unity, inclusiveness, capital projects, and strategic initiatives that would elevate both the Association and its Alma Mater.
“This administration is committed to fostering unity across all Sets, initiating meaningful development projects, and strengthening our contributions to Makun High School. We will build on the legacy of our past leaders and engage stakeholders actively,” said CSP Babatunde.
Also addressing the Congress, the new Public Relations Officer, Comrade Adewale Hammed Bashiru, popularly known as Honourable Prince Lahbash, promised to raise the profile of MAHSOSA through proactive communication and increased member engagement.
“I will use this office to reconnect our members, promote our shared values, and project the image of MAHSOSA in a way that inspires more Alumni participation both home and abroad,” he stated.
Mr. Kayode Somorin, who was the former General Secretary & also served as Pro tem President commended the outgone leadership for their service and charged the incoming Executives to emulate the dedication and vision of their predecessors.
Finally, The National Secretariat through the General Secretary, Engr Musa Ogunnubi, calls on all Alumni, Stakeholders, Set Coordinators , and friends of the Association to support the new leadership in the task of building a stronger, more impactful MAHSOSA. Together, we can ensure that Makun High School continues to stand tall as a beacon of Academic Excellence and Community Development.
