A gospel singer, Oluwatimileyin Ajayi has been sentenced to death for the murder of Salome Adaidu, a National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) member.

Anayo was sentenced to death by a High Court in Lafia, Nasarawa State on Thursday, June 26, 2025.

Delivering the judgement, Justice Simon Aboki said the gospel singer was guilty of dismembering the NYSC member.

He was convicted on a single count of culpable homicide which falls under Section 221 of the Penal Code of Northern Nigeria.

According to the code, the death penalty is prescribed for anyone found guilty.
