“I’d no access to Tinubu for 2 years but he met Davido who he insulted him” – Ex-presidential aide

Aliyu Audu, former senior special assistant on public affairs to President Bola Tinubu, has criticized the president over what he described as exclusion and neglect during his time in office.

Speaking on Prime Time with Arise Television on Thursday, Audu expressed frustration over the lack of access he had to the president, despite serving as one of his official spokespersons for nearly two years.

His words: “I worked for the president for nearly two years. I didn’t have a sit-down with him. I was one of his spokespersons.

“But he sat with Davido, who insulted him a couple of weeks before. Then he sat with that Jandor, who didn’t even come second in the Lagos election. It doesn’t make sense.”

Audu’s comments come days after he officially resigned from the Tinubu administration. His resignation followed a private meeting between Tinubu and Afrobeat star David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, who visited the president in Lagos alongside his uncle, Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State.

In March, Tinubu also received Abdul-Azeez Olajide Adediran, known as Jandor, the 2023 Lagos governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), who defected from the party and pledged support for the APC-led federal government.

Audu, who is also the convener of the APC Rebirth Movement, has vowed to actively work against Tinubu’s re-election bid in 2027, citing the president’s leadership style and disregard for loyal aides.
