Meet Michael Adewale Adesanya – A Bold New Visionary for Remo

My name is Michael Adewale Adesanya—a 37-year-old husband, father of two, and a proud son of Remo. The journey of my life has filled my heart with fire for our people’s future. I am stepping forward to represent Remo in the Federal House of Representatives because we need a new kind of leadership that ignites progress, champions innovation, and transforms Remo into a beacon of education, enterprise, and prosperity.

Remo isn’t just my heritage—it’s my foundation, my heartbeat. I was raised in Isale Oko, Sagamu, and began my education at Remo Kindergarten, then proceeded to Mayflower Junior and Secondary School in Ikenne. The legacy of Remo as a cradle of educational excellence set the course of my life. In 2004, I represented Ikenne LG, Remo Zone, and Ogun State at the National JETS Competition, where I won the National Best Science Student Award alongside 16 other trophies. This laid the foundation for me to earn a First-Class degree in Chemical Engineering from the *University of Lagos* as a Shell and Ogun State Scholar, and later an MBA degree from *Stanford Graduate School of Business, California* as an Africa Scholar.

I’ve taken Remo’s spirit to conquer the world—leading teams at *Procter & Gamble*, driving commerce at *Jumia*, and shaping retail strategy at *Gap Inc.* in San Francisco. In 2019, I co-founded Suplias, backed by Y Combinator, raising millions of dollars to revolutionize trade in Africa. In 2022, I launched Oris, a digital sales platform which empowers over 1,000 sales professionals across Nigeria.

Yet, my deepest passion is education—the key to unlocking Remo’s greatness. In 2021, I launched the *Adewale Students Conference (ASC)* to reignite academic excellence, inspire our youth, and restore Remo’s legacy as a hub of academic leadership. Over four years, ASC has impacted 5,000+ students, teachers, and administrators through scholarships, training, and cash rewards across the State. I am also an Adjunct Lecturer of Engineering Entrepreneurship at UNILAG, teaching and mentoring the next generation of innovators.

Remo needs a leader who fights for tomorrow—not just today. A leader who’s walked our streets—selling ice water, fufu, and corn in Isale-Oko, Falawo, Soyindo, Hospital Road and Makun—and who’s also led on the global stage. I bring local roots, global vision, and a relentless spirit. I’ve governed as Student Union President at UNILAG, managed multi-million-dollar businesses, and built startups from scratch. Now, I’m ready to take that same energy to Abuja—for us; to redefine our education policies, drive *sustainable* youth empowerment through enterprise and fight for social infrastructural upgrade.

This is our moment. Remo’s potential is limitless, but we must dare to demand more and different. Together, we can build a Remo where every child thrives, every adult flourishes, and every voice is heard.

I’m ready for the task and I need your support. The future starts now.
