Garba Shehu, a former spokesperson for ex-president Muhammadu Buhari has disclosed his principal’s plan and political alignment for 2027.
Speaking in an interview with Arise Television, the former presidential aide said Buhari has no interest in the plan to oust President Bola Tinubu from the seat of power.
Debunking the claim that Buhari is planning to join the opposition coalition to work against the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the administration of Tinubu, Shehu said his principal does not nurse such an intention.
Shehu’s remark comes after a former governor of Kaduna State, Nasir El-Rufai told the press about their meeting with a former president.
Although El-Rufai said that their meeting was not politically motivated, there have been insinuations in some quarters that the ex-president visited by the coalition is Buhari.
However, responding to questions on Buhari’s current political alignment, Shehu said, “No, not at all. President Buhari’s position was and still is that he’s an APC person. APC did him the big favour of his life. Made him president for two terms.
He is not going to betray that party. President Tinubu is a successor from the same political party.
“President Buhari ran for office three times and didn’t win until they came together with Tinubu and all the others and they won,” Shehu stated
