Ogun State House of Assembly has confirmed the nomination of the members of the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), it earlier screened, affirming their eligibility to hold public office in the State.
The approval followed the passage of a resolution titled: H.R. No. 135/OG/2025 – “Report of the Committee of the Whole on the Screening of the Nominees of the Governor for Appointment to the State Universal Basic Education Board,” after the adoption of the report of the Committee of the Whole House chaired by the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Oludaisi Elemide, as presented by the Majority Leader, Hon. Yusuf Sheriff.
The Majority Leader, after presenting the report, later moved for its adoption, seconded by the Minority Leader Lukman Adeleye, and supported by the entire House; while the confirmation of the nominees was subsequently carried out through a motion moved by the Majority Leader, seconded by the Minority Leader, and supported by the Whole House through a voice vote.
Earlier, while presenting the report, Hon. Sheriff stated that the Committee had thoroughly reviewed the nominees’ curriculum vitae, credentials, and responses during the screening, and found them suitable for the appointment.
The Speaker also announced at the plenary that a zonal town hall meeting organised by the Senate for state houses of assembly members will hold in Lagos from Friday 4th to Saturday, 5th of July, 2025.
