…Olanrewaju Dedicates Recognition to Journalists in Ogun State

The Rotary Club of Abeokuta has honoured Comrade Akinwale Olanrewaju, Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Ogun State Council, with the Outstanding Media Personality Award in recognition of his exceptional service to journalism and his unwavering dedication to the profession.

The award was presented by Rotarian Iyabo Omotoke Ilesanmi, the first female and 14th President of Rotary Club Obantoko, District 9111, during a courtesy visit to the NUJ chairman’s office.

Speaking at the presentation, President Ilesanmi described Olanrewaju as “a trusted storyteller and bold communicator whose professional integrity continues to inspire confidence in the journalism industry.” She commended his contributions to media development and his consistent advocacy for truth and accountability.

In his response, Comrade Olanrewaju expressed profound gratitude to the Rotary Club for the recognition, describing the honour as a significant milestone in his career. He pledged to deepen collaboration between Rotary and the NUJ, particularly during the forthcoming NUJ Press Week, to create broader awareness for Rotary’s humanitarian programmes.

“This recognition is not for me alone. I dedicate it to all journalists in Ogun State whose resilience and commitment to truth continue to shape our society positively,” he said.

He further assured that the NUJ under his leadership would continue to provide Rotary with robust media support in advancing its community development initiatives.
