A young girl, TITILAYO Kolawole 15 years old suffering from ruptured appendicitis has benefited from the benevolence of members of Moringa Friends & Family Club, Abeokuta with the donation of three hundred thousand naira 300,000 to cover her medical expenses.
Miss TITILAYO Kolawole who is an orphan had been on admission at the State Hospital, Ijaye for the surgical operation but was unable to raise the funds needed for the operation before the attention of Moringa Friends & Family Club was drawn to her deteriorating health condition.
Presenting the donation of a 300,000 cheque to the grandmother of Titilayo, the President of the Club Engr. Chief Alexander Mazoya represented by the Club's Vice President Alhaji Rasheed Afolabi expressed heartfelt thoughts with the patient, praying that God Almighty will perfect her healing.
He maintained that the only way associations, social clubs and corporate organizations could make a good name for themselves was to identify with the downtrodden and lift up their spirits by showing empathy to address their needs.
The Head, Social Welfare Department of the State Hospital, Ijaye Abeokuta Mrs Owolabi Iyabode disclosed that patient, Titilayo Kolawole was admitted into the hospital for some weeks hoping that the family would come up with the funds for the surgery but they couldn't.
"We are highly delighted that God eventually sent your club forth for the much needed support, and we pray that the club will continue to wax stronger, we appreciate you all" Mrs Owolabi noted.
The grandmother of the patient, Madam Abeke Somorin who lives at Araromi area behind Army barracks, Abeokuta who was visibly elated with the kind gesture said that all hopes are lost before God sent the Moringa Friends and Family Club to their aids.
She offered an emotional prayer for members of the club maintaining that Titilayo's health challenges could have cut her life short if not for the financial support.
