Alumni Impact: MAHSOSA 06’ Set Unveils Modern Toilet Complex for Students

The Makun High School Old Students Association (MAHSOSA) 2006 Set under the chairmanship of Comrade Bashiru Hammed Adewale (Honourable Prince Lahbash) has in a landmark contribution to educational infrastructure and student welfare, commissioned a modern public toilet facility for the Junior School section of Makun High School, Sagamu.

The project—spearheaded by the 2006 Set Chairman, Comrade Bashiru Hammed Adewale, popularly known as Honourable Prince Lahbash—was formally unveiled during a ceremony attended by school authorities, alumni leaders, and community stakeholders.

Speaking at the commissioning, the National President of MAHSOSA, CSP Ibrahim Babatunde Mojeed, described the initiative as a meaningful investment in the future of the school. He noted that the gesture reflects the enduring bond between the alumni and the institution that shaped their formative years.

“This project represents our shared legacy,” Lahbash said. “It is an expression of gratitude and a commitment to uplifting the learning environment for current and future students.”

The Principal of Makun High School (Junior), Mr. Olusegun Oyewusi, praised the 2006 Set for their vision and generosity. He said the new facility will significantly strengthen hygiene, safety and overall learning conditions within the school.

“This modern facility reaffirms our belief that every learner and visitor deserves a clean, secure and dignified environment,” he remarked. He urged users to maintain the toilets responsibly, adding, “Those who give shall never lack; may the donors continue to flourish.”

Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Makun High School, Mr. Sunday Oyeyemi, commended the 2006 Set for their well-coordinated effort and urged other alumni groups to work closely with the national body when proposing similar projects to ensure alignment with the school’s development plans.

“The Class of 2006 has acted with foresight and brought honour to the school,” he noted.

In his address, Comrade Bashiru Hammed expressed appreciation to the Ogun State Government, through the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, for approving the project. He also thanked members of the 2006 Set for their unwavering support from the planning stage to completion.

He reiterated that the project reflects the Set’s commitment to giving back to their community and strengthening the school’s infrastructure.

“Our goal is to leave a lasting impact—one that enhances student wellbeing and reinforces the values we were taught here,” he said.

The newly commissioned ultra-modern toilet facility is expected to improve hygiene standards, reduce open defecation, and enhance the overall school experience for hundreds of students.
