BATOGD: Ogun-East Senator Rallies Ijebu Waterside for Tinubu’s Re-election

The Senator representing Ogun-East Senatorial District, Otunba Gbenga Daniel, on Sunday led his team under the BATOGD Movement to Ijebu Waterside, canvassing

support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s second term in office.

Speaking during the BATOGD Mid-Term Community Assessment and Review Tour held at Abigi in Ogun Waterside Local Government Area on Sunday.

Daniel commended President Tinubu’s leadership and reaffirmed his confidence in the administration’s commitment to empowering Nigerians through strategic projects.

The former governor lauded the President for approving the establishment of a naval base and dockyard in Ogun Waterside, describing the project as a major economic and security asset for the state.

He noted that the area was already witnessing development through the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway route alignment, which passes through the local government.

According to him, the new naval base and dockyard in Ode-Omi will stimulate local economic growth through job creation and infrastructure development.

“The people of Ogun State are eternally grateful to President Tinubu for his numerous projects, we will reciprocate his kind gesture with massive votes in the 2027 general elections.”

Daniel recalled that the land allocated for the naval base had been in possession of the Nigerian Navy for over 50 years without development until now, attributing the renewed progress to divine providence and coordinated legislative efforts.

“It’s not that the Navy was in a hurry to begin work here, it took deliberate strategic efforts. We must thank our President and Commander-in-Chief, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, for granting the necessary approvals.”

He also revisited his earlier plans as governor to establish a refinery in the area, which inspired the creation of the Gateway Industrial and Petro-Gas Institute (GIPI) and the proposed Deep Seaport in Ode-Omi.

“GIPI was designed to train professionals who would work in the refinery project. Although the plan was stalled after we left office, we are now working to revive it,” he said.

“Whatever the state government cannot handle, we will assist at the federal level. Our President is ready to support us, as he did when the Federal Government took over and began funding the Tai Solarin University of Education.”

On the ongoing naval project, Daniel assured that the Federal Government would ensure adequate funding to complete all phases.

“A naval base is like a naval city-wherever it is located, security is assured. Phase one includes accommodation for officers, administrative buildings, perimeter fencing, and other infrastructure. The second phase will feature a naval secondary school, while the third phase will include a naval hospital.”

The senator concluded by urging citizens to continue supporting President Tinubu, describing him as a leader with genuine intentions for Nigeria’s development.

“President Tinubu means well for Nigeria,” he said. “All well-meaning citizens should support his administration and his second-term ambition.”
