The Labour Party (LP) governorship candidate, George Moghalu, has lost his polling unit to incumbent Governor Chukwuma Soludo of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in the ongoing Anambra governorship election.
The result at Polling Unit 017, Uruagu Ward 1, Nnewi North Local Government Area, was announced by the presiding officer, Okonkwo Ebere, at about 2:50 p.m. after the conclusion of voting.
Soludo polled 57 votes to win the unit, Moghalu secured 22 votes, while the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Nicholas Ukachukwu, scored 5 votes.
The total valid votes cast were 85, representing less than 20 percent of the 463 registered voters at the unit.
Recall that Moghalu had earlier raised concerns over alleged vote buying and intimidation at various polling centres across the state.
