The Association of Primary School Teachers of Nigeria (APSTON), Ogun State Wing, has expressed heartfelt appreciation to the Governor of Ogun State, Prince Dapo Abiodun, for the historic approval of cadre progression to Grade Level 17 for primary school teachers, including a special Grade Level 17 for Headteacher Generals in the state.
The association described the approval as a monumental achievement that has broken an age-long jinx, aligning perfectly with the administration’s mantra, “Building Our Future Together,” and reaffirming Governor Abiodun’s unwavering commitment to the welfare and career advancement of teachers.
In a statement issued by the Chairman of APSTON, Ogun State Wing, Comrade Salisu Oluwaseun, the association expressed profound gratitude to the governor, describing him as a “teacher-friendly and listening governor.”
“Governor Abiodun has proven himself to be a true champion of teachers’ welfare in Ogun State. He is the only governor in the history of the state to have carried out the highest number of promotions for teachers, clearly demonstrating his genuine interest in the growth and development of educators,” the statement read.
APSTON also commended the State Head of Service, Mr. Kehinde Onasanya, describing him as a “goal-getter and achiever,” whose tenure, the association noted, has ushered in a new dawn for primary school teachers in Ogun State.
According to the association, the approval of the cadre progression is a testament to his dedication, effectiveness, and commitment to public service.
The association further applauded the Chairman of the Ogun State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), Evangelist Olalekan Ifede, noting that his appointment and tireless efforts were instrumental in achieving the milestone.
“Evangelist Ifede and his team worked assiduously to ensure this success became a reality. We salute their commitment to the cause of education and the welfare of teachers,” the statement added.
The statement emphasized that the approval of the cadre progression is expected to significantly boost teachers’ morale, enhance professional growth, and improve the overall quality of primary education in Ogun State.
APSTON, Ogun State Wing, reaffirmed its support for Governor Abiodun’s vision for education and pledged continued partnership with the state government in advancing Ogun State’s educational agenda.
