Education Secretaries across the 20 Local Government Areas of Ogun State have been commended for their dedication and commitment to duty, particularly in advancing basic education in the State.
The commendation was given by the Chairman of the Ogun State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), Evang. Olalekan Ifede, during a monthly engagement with the Education Secretaries at the Board’s Conference Room, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta.
Evang. Ifede urged the officials to intensify efforts in preparation for the newyear, charging them to strengthen monitoring exercises when the second term resumes. He applauded their collective contributions to the growth of basic education in the State and encouraged them to sustain the momentum.
According to the SUBEB Chairman, “Leadership positions within the basic education system must be occupied only by individuals who have demonstrated competence, commitment and integrity.”
He stressed that effective service delivery in the sector largely depended on the quality and professionalism of those entrusted with responsibility, expressing optimism that the coming year would usher in greater achievements for the basic education sector in Ogun State.
Responding on behalf of his colleagues, the Education Secretary of Imeko-Afon Local Government, TPL Ayoola Paul, expressed appreciation to the Board for its support, particularly commending its open-door policy, which he noted had fostered unity and inclusiveness in education policy formulation.
A major highlight of the engagement was the presentation of four project-monitoring vehicles to four Local Government Education Authorities in the State, aimed at enhancing effective supervision and project delivery.
