The Adeola Azeez Community Care Foundation (AACCF) has donated a fully equipped Technology Hub to Emmanuel Anglican Primary School, Italupe, Ijebu-Ode, as part of its commitment to promoting digital literacy and expanding access to quality education at the grassroots level.
The newly launched tech hub is fitted with modern computers, internet facilities, and other learning tools designed to introduce pupils to basic Information and Communication Technology (ICT) skills at an early stage. The initiative is aimed at bridging the digital divide and preparing young learners for a technology-driven future.
Speaking at the event, the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of the Foundation, Mrs Adeola Azeez, described the tech hub as more than just a room filled with computers, noting that it represents a clear statement that access to technology is not a privilege but a right.
According to her, investing in technology at the grassroots level is an investment in the future of the economy, communities, and the nation at large.
“At our Foundation, we believe that for the economy to progress, the grassroots must progress first. Development cannot remain at the top alone; it must rise from the base of the pyramid. It is in places like Emmanuel Anglican Primary School that enormous potential exists—often unseen, often unsupported, yet incredibly powerful,” she said.
Mrs Azeez further explained that many pupils in public primary schools across Ogun State learn about computers only in theory without ever having practical exposure.
“I have met children who can perfectly recite the parts of a computer yet have never used one. This Tech Hub changes that reality. Now, these children can touch a computer and learn not just about technology, but through technology,” she added.
She also disclosed that two additional tech hubs are set to be established in other public primary schools in Ogun State, including St. James United Primary School, Mobalufon, Odogbolu, and Baptist Primary School, Ogbogbo, Ijebu North-East.
In her remarks, the First Lady of Ogun State, Mrs Bamidele Abiodun, commended Mrs Azeez for the innovative initiative, reaffirming her office’s strong commitment to child development, education, and youth empowerment.
Mrs Abiodun emphasized that government cannot achieve sustainable development alone and described it as heartwarming to see individuals and organisations like AACCF giving back to society through impactful interventions.
“This Tech Hub is a testament to what is possible when private initiative meets public need. What we see here today is not just a room full of computers but a gateway to the future,” the First Lady said.
Also speaking, the Deputy Governor of Ogun State, Engr. Noimot Salako Oyedele, noted that the initiative would help bridge the digital divide at the basic education level and ensure that pupils in public schools are not left behind in the rapidly evolving digital world.
Earlier, the Head Teacher of Emmanuel Anglican Primary School, Mr Oso Lawrence, expressed deep appreciation to Mrs Adeola Azeez and the Foundation for the kind gesture towards the school.
The highlight of the event was the commissioning and formal handover of the tech hub to the school.
Dignitaries present at the event included the First Lady of Ogun State, Mrs Bamidele Abiodun; the Deputy Governor, Engr. Noimot Salako Oyedele; Chairman, Ijebu Ode Local Government, Hon. Dare Alebiosu; Mrs Molade Adeniyi, Chairman, Ogun SUBEB, and several other government officials and stakeholders.
