Fani-Kayode Said A Democratically Elected President, “Whether You Like Or Support Him Or Not, Is The Living Manifestation Of Our Nation And The Essence And Symbol Of Our National Sovereignty And Pride”.
He Said Those Mocking The Incident Failed To Understand That “When Our President Falls It Essentially Means That Our Nation Falls”.
The Former Minister Cited Biblical Passages, Including Micah 7:8 And Proverbs 24:16, Saying Tinubu’s Recovery Showed That “The Lord Is With Him And That The Enemy Within Has Failed Once Again”.
He Said Despite The Incident, Tinubu Went On To “Negotiate And Sign Numerous Bilateral Agreements Which Will Bring Security, Succour And Prosperity To Our Nation” With President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
Fani-Kayode Alleged That Some Opposition Figures Were Exploiting Insecurity And Abductions In Parts Of The Country To Undermine The Government And Destabilise Nigeria.
He Said Such Actors “Secretly Crave It Yet Openly Condemn It Because It Suits Their Purpose And It Confirms The Narrative That They Want To Establish”.
The Former Minister Rejected Claims That Only Christians Were Being Targeted, Saying Muslims Were Also Being Abducted In Large Numbers Across Northern Nigeria.
He Said Framing Insecurity Solely In Religious Terms Was “Irresponsible And Disingenuous” And Failed To Reflect The Complexity Of The Crisis.
Fani-Kayode Said Efforts By The Military, Security Agencies And Political Leaders Had Led To Successes In Prevention And Rescue Operations, Even Though Challenges Remained.
He Said Terrorists Were At War With The Nigerian State And People, “Both Christian And Muslim”, And Not With One Religion Alone.
The Former Minister Said Nigeria Needed Unity And Credible Leadership, Not What He Described As Divisive Politics.
He Added That The All Progressives Congress Controlled Most States In The Federation And Said “Only God Can Stop President Bola Ahmed Tinubu From Being Re-Elected In 2027”.
