APC Chieftain in Ogun State, Aare Dr. Adebayo Odunowo has expressed Shock and profound Sadness over the passing of APC Southwest Woman Leader, Chief Mrs Yetunde Adesanya.
This was made known in a Statement made available to newsmen.
The Statement reads as follows;
It is with a heavy heart, profound sadness, and deep shock that I received the news of the passing of our distinguished leader, mother, mentor, and political icon, Chief (Mrs.) Yetunde Shakirat Adesanya, the revered APC South-West Woman Leader, after a prolonged illness.
The news of her departure has left a painful vacuum not only within the All Progressives Congress (APC) family but also across the entire political landscape of the South-West and Nigeria at large. Though we were aware of her health challenges, the reality of her passing remains difficult to comprehend. Her death is indeed a monumental loss to our great party, to women in politics, and to all who were privileged to encounter her remarkable leadership, wisdom, and motherly disposition.
Chief Mrs. Yetunde Adesanya was more than a political leader; she was a pillar of strength, a bridge-builder, and a passionate advocate for the empowerment and advancement of women within the political space. Throughout her years of dedicated service as the APC South-West Woman Leader, she worked tirelessly to mobilize, unite, and inspire women across the six South-West states. She remained unwavering in her commitment to the ideals and growth of our great party, contributing significantly to its stability, expansion, and electoral successes in the region. She was widely recognized for her active engagement in party affairs, grassroots mobilization, leadership development, and her steadfast support for progressive governance.
Mama Yetunde possessed uncommon courage, humility, and dedication. Her ability to connect with people from all walks of life endeared her to countless party faithful, political associates, and community leaders. She was a dependable voice of reason during challenging times and a relentless promoter of unity, loyalty, and service. Her leadership style reflected grace, discipline, and genuine concern for the welfare of others.
Beyond politics, she was a compassionate mother whose kindness touched many lives. She provided guidance, encouragement, and support to younger generations of women and political aspirants, helping many discover their potential and place in leadership. Her life exemplified service, sacrifice, and commitment to humanity.
As we mourn this painful loss, we are reminded that death, though inevitable, often comes with a deep sense of grief when it takes away individuals whose impact transcends personal boundaries. The passing of Chief Mrs. Yetunde Adesanya has undoubtedly created a void that will be difficult to fill. However, her legacy of dedication, integrity, loyalty, and selfless service will continue to inspire generations to come.
On behalf of my family and associates, I extend my heartfelt condolences to her immediate family, the leadership and members of the All Progressives Congress, especially the South-West chapter, her friends, political associates, and the countless individuals whose lives she touched positively.
May Almighty God grant her soul eternal rest and forgive all her shortcomings. May He also grant her family, loved ones, and the entire APC family the strength, comfort, and fortitude to bear this irreparable loss.
Chief Mrs. Yetunde Shakirat Adesanya may have departed this earthly realm, but her contributions, sacrifices, and enduring legacy will forever remain etched in our hearts and in the history of our great party.
Adieu, our beloved Leader.
Adieu, an Amazon of Progressive Politics.
Adieu, Chief (Mrs.) Yetunde Shakirat Adesanya.
May your gentle soul rest in perfect peace.
