The Yayi Progressives Movement (YPM) has announced plans for a landmark inauguration ceremony scheduled to hold on May 3, 2026, at the iconic Ake Palace, signaling a new phase in its expanding grassroots mobilisation drive.

The announcement was made by the Convener of the Movement, Armstrong Temitope Akintunde, through the Director of State Media, Oluseun Joshua Oduneye, who described the forthcoming event as a defining moment for the consolidation of the Movement’s structure and influence across communities.

The Yayi Progressives Movement has, in recent times, emerged as a formidable grassroots platform dedicated to strengthening political awareness, unity, and active participation among citizens. With a clear focus on mobilising support at the ward and community levels, the Movement continues to deepen its reach through strategic engagement and coordinated activities.

Central to its mission is the promotion of the governorship ambition of Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, popularly known as Yayi, ahead of the 2027 Ogun State gubernatorial election. The Movement is equally committed to galvanising widespread support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s second-term bid, as well as advancing the senatorial aspiration of Governor Dapo Abiodun in Ogun East.

Observers note that the planned inauguration at Ake Palace is expected to attract key stakeholders, grassroots mobilisers, and supporters from across the state, further reinforcing the Movement’s growing reputation as a driving force in grassroots political organisation.
