Lipa of Molipa Ijebu, Oba Odubena, Celebrates 78th Birthday in Grand Style



…Installs Otunba Gbadega, Bobagunwa and Fuwagboye of Molipa Kingdom


The ancient town of Molipa Ijebu in Ogun State came alive on Saturday as the Lipa of Molipa Ijebu, Oba Adeyemi Abiodun Odubena, celebrated his 78th birthday anniversary in grand style amidst pomp and rich cultural displays.


The colourful event, held at the royal palace in Molipa Ijebu, attracted traditional rulers, political leaders, community stakeholders, family members, and well-wishers from across Ogun State and beyond.


As part of activities marking the monarch’s birthday celebration, Oba Odubena also conferred chieftaincy titles on distinguished sons and daughters of the kingdom in recognition of their contributions to the growth and development of Molipa Ijebu Kingdom.


Among those honoured were Engr. Tomi Ayannuga and Mrs. Victoria Ayannuga, who were installed as Otunba and Yeye Otunba Gbadega; Mr. Albert Adekola and Mrs. Vera Adekola, who became Otunba and Yeye Otunba Bobagunwa; as well as Dr. Oluwaseun Durojaiye and Mrs. Anuoluwa Durojaiye, who were installed as Otunba and Yeye Otunba Fuwagboye of Molipa Kingdom. 


The traditional rites accompanying the installations were witnessed by guests, palace chiefs, and community leaders.


Speaking during the celebration, Oba Odubena expressed gratitude to God for the grace to witness another year in good health and peace. The monarch also appreciated the people of Molipa Ijebu for their unwavering support, loyalty, and prayers throughout his reign.


He urged the newly installed chiefs to continue promoting peace, unity, and development in the community while upholding the cultural heritage and traditions of the kingdom.


Also speaking at the event, the Ogun State Commissioner for Transportation, Hon. Gbenga Dairo, who had earlier been installed as Otunba Fehintade and Olori Omoba of Molipa Ijebu Kingdom, congratulated the monarch on attaining another year and prayed for long life, good health, and continued prosperity for the royal father.


Hon. Dairo also expressed appreciation to the monarch and the people of Molipa Ijebu Kingdom for finding him worthy of the prestigious titles bestowed upon him.


In his remarks, Engr. Tomi Ayannuga, the Otunba Gbadega of Molipa Kingdom, thanked the royal father for the honour, describing the conferment of the title as a call to greater service and commitment to the continued growth and development of Molipa Kingdom.


The celebration featured traditional music, cultural performances, prayers, and entertainment as guests joined the monarch in commemorating the memorable occasion.
