Security Of Lives, Property My Priorities - Epe Council Chair




The Executive Chairman of Epe Local Government Council Area of Lagos State, Princess Surah Animashaun, said her administration will not relent in its efforts to provide adequate security for lives and property of the citizens and residents by continuing to partner with security agencies in the country.


The council Chairperson stated this today during a comprehensive Security Stakeholders Meeting with key security agencies, traditional rulers, community leaders, religious leaders, market representatives, youth leaders, and other critical stakeholders across Epe Division, held at the council secretariat, Ita-Marun, Epe, Lagos state.


She emphasised that security of lives and property remains a top priority of her administration while reiterating that sustainable development could only thrive in a peaceful and secure environment, stressing the need for collective responsibility in tackling emerging security challenges.


"Indeed, this gathering provided a platform for robust discussions on strengthening security architecture, enhancing intelligence gathering, fostering collaboration among security agencies, and it will developing proactive measures to ensure the continued peace, safety, and prosperity of Epe Local Government." Princess Animashaun said.


She expressed optimism that the operation would go a long way in resolving the current security challenges bedevilling the country just as she assured security agencies of the continued cooperation and support of her government.


The council Chairperson said her administration is making efforts to unlock the investment and business potentials of the council to transform the economy and create job opportunities for the youths having being conscious of the fact that unemployment, hunger and poverty are the roots of crimes.


She said; "my administration has continued to provide monthly stipends to security agencies operating within Epe Local Government as part of ongoing efforts to motivate personnel and enhance operational effectiveness."


She highlighted several landmark interventions undertaken by her administration to support security operations within the council area, noting that she had provided patrol vehicles and motorcycles to the Tactical Squad and the 'Ibile Vigilante Group' to improve surveillance, rapid response, and crime prevention efforts across communities.


The strategic meeting was attended by representatives of the Nigeria Police Force, Department of State Services (DSS), Nigerian Army, Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS), Marine Police, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Lagos State Neighbourhood Safety Corps (LNSC), Tactical Squad, 'Ibile Vigilante Group', and other security formations operating within Epe Division.


Also in attendance were traditional rulers, community leaders, religious leaders, market representatives, youth leaders, and other critical stakeholders whose contributions remain invaluable to maintaining peace, stability, and development across the division.
